Electronic Recycling Day in Clinton County June 29th!
The Clinton Streamkeepers and organizations of the Clinton
County Green Alliance in partnership with Cohen Recycling announce a Clinton County Electronics Recycling Event,
Saturday June 29th from 9am to 12noon in the parking lot out
front of Southern State Community
College, 1850 Davids Drive in Wilmington.
Cohen staff will be on hand to receive electronic waste for
recycling, with almost any electronic item being accepted (a list of items is
located at www.cohenusa.com/electronic-scrap-recycling),
there is a small fee for the disposal of CRT Computer Monitors of $5 each, Tube
TVs under 32” of $10 each, and Tube TVs 32” and over of $20 each due to the
lead recovery process required for these components.
Electronic waste can have serious health and environmental
impacts, as modern technology often has heavy metals, mercury and lead which is
dangerous to the environment and discarding electronics can also present a
variety of privacy, security, and intellectual property concerns but Cohen completely
dismantles and shreds all hard drives and other materials at their secure
facility in Middletown, ensuring both privacy and environmental safety of the
materials.
Cohen is regional recycler with 20 locations throughout
Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee and a major electronics recycling using
the R2 certification process ensuring that electronic wastes do not end up as
hazardous pollutants in the environment or in a landfill.
