Weather, Wind, Kites and Kids

Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the David Williams Memorial Park (off Fife Avenue) a National Weather Service meteorologist,  No Child Left Indoors volunteers, sport kite enthusiasts, and park staff will offer a unique opportunity for children to learn about weather and wind, see “stunt” kites in action, and then fly kites provided by the Lytle Creek League of Conservators.  March is known for its windy disposition and the local park provides a perfect open area, free from utility lines to play in the wind.

This free program is geared for school-age children.  Children  must be accompanied by an adult. The first 20 children registered who attend will receive a free kite.  Registration HERE.  For additional information, call Lori Williams @ 382-4781.

In the case of inclement weather, we will re-schedule for the following Saturday, March 23.
